LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie – Akrivia
The LVRR-01 is a comprehensive meditation on the nature of time: a precision chronometer equipped with a tourbillon regulator that indicates the current time, but also an instrument that measures elapsed time, while marking for the first time in the watch industry, the passing of time with a sonnerie mechanism. The chronograph functions of start, stop, and reset are controlled by the pusher at two o’clock. However, the chronograph boasts the addition of an acoustic reminder of elapsed time, with a single chime struck as each minute passes. Clear and musical in tone, the chime is sounded by a black-polished steel hammer striking a tempered steel gong, developed at Atelier Akrivia.
The LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie is a remarkable collaboration between Akrivia’s founder, Rexhep Rexhepi, and Louis Vuitton’s Jean Arnault. This timepiece masterfully combines traditional watchmaking complications with contemporary design elements, resulting in a watch that is both technically impressive and aesthetically captivating.
Key Features:
- Complications: The LVRR-01 integrates a precision chronometer with a tourbillon regulator, a chronograph function, and a unique sonnerie mechanism. The chronograph not only measures elapsed time but also audibly marks each passing minute with a clear, musical chime. This chime is produced by a black-polished steel hammer striking a tempered steel gong, both developed in-house at Atelier Akrivia.
- Dual Dials: This watch features a two-sided display. The front dial, crafted from tinted sapphire crystal, offers a modern aesthetic with a gilt-metallised minute track reminiscent of the Rexhep Rexhepi Chronomètre Contemporain. It also includes six gold cubes filled with translucent fired enamel using the plique-à-jour technique. The reverse side showcases a traditional white grand feu enamel dial, inspired by 19th-century pocket chronographs, complete with twin hour and minute scales.
- Case Design: The platinum case reinterprets Louis Vuitton’s signature Tambour design, presenting a streamlined form with a tall, sloping bezel and elegantly sculpted lugs. The case is meticulously crafted by Atelier Akrivia under the supervision of master casemaker Jean-Pierre Hagmann, whose discreet “JHP” hallmark is engraved on the lower-right lug as a seal of quality.
- Artisanal Craftsmanship: The LVRR-01 exemplifies the highest standards of traditional watchmaking. Even concealed components are decorated with techniques such as Côtes de Genève, reflecting the dedication to craftsmanship. The bridge terminations are meticulously finished, showcasing the expertise of Rexhep Rexhepi.
- Exclusive Presentation: This unique timepiece is delivered in a custom Louis Vuitton traditional trunk, underscoring the exclusivity and luxury of the collaboration.
The LVRR-01 Chronographe à Sonnerie stands as a testament to the harmonious blend of Akrivia’s horological excellence and Louis Vuitton’s design heritage, offering collectors a truly unique and innovative wristwatch.
